Roborigger Manufacture and Service Manager
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled person to take charge of these processes as we build and operate our rental fleet of Roborigger units.
You will be working alongside a team of highly technical mechanical, electrical and mechatronic engineers supported by our alliance with Curtin University. What we are doing is truly state of the art in design and we are looking for the same type of innovation in manufacture and support.
Responsibilities
The role requires a person with multi-discipline skills:
- Mechanical: Assemble bearings and shafts with bushes. Mount motors and install couplings. Candidate must have good general mechanical skills associated with repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Electrical: Oversee installation of control boxes and site hookup of power and control wiring fro new units being built. For maintenance and repair be able to troubleshoot electrical faults, replace circuit boards, terminate power and data cables.
- Workshop Management: Manage the assemble facility including set up of tools and equipment. You must be able to plan the processes and ensure that product is delivered on time. You must be able to supervise outsourced tradespeople and labour as required.
- Manufacture control: Assist in setting up procedures to ensure all materials and parts are fully traceable to their destination products. Ensure all testing is undertaken in accordance with test plans and results stored. Manage the process in a manner compliant with ISO 9001.
Where you will be working
The work will be generally located at our assembly and service facility at Wangara but will also involve visits to sites when supporting the equipment.
Requirement
The ideal candidate would have experience with the manufacture and servicing of computer driven electromechanical equipment such as Remote Operated Vehicles for subsea work, cranes, or robotic manufacturing equipment. An electrical trades background or mechanical fitter background is preferred although candidates who can demonstrate similar skills without the formal qualification will also be considered.
We would expect that the person will have an electrical, electronics or mechanical trade background as well as experience with assembly and testing of new equipment where high quality standards are demanded.
