ABOUT

TENSA Equipment was established in 2009 to provide a line of equipment and services for the offshore oil and gas industry.

The company’s founder, Derick Markwell, is a qualified structural engineer and has more offshore experience on construction and drilling projects over the last 25 years than he likes to remember. A founder of ICON Engineering and responsible for the development of their line of conductor tensioners and clamps, Derick also spent 6 years with West Australian Petroleum (a Chevron affiliate) firstly as a Construction Manager for new developments, and then Chief Facilities Engineer for the Barrow Island asset. The entire range TENSA products reflect these years of expertise, combining innovation and sound theoretical design with the simplicity and robustness necessary to maintain equipment functionality in the environment of hard knocks.

TENSA provides complete engineered solutions for the onshore and offshore drilling and construction market. We understand the requirements and offer products which are the culmination of rigorous analysis and testing. As part of our services we also provide technical support to ensure that the equipment we offer does what it is intended.

TENSA has the added advantage of being able to utilise the services of sister company Atlas EPM (Engineering and Project Management) which specialises in multi-disciplined engineering.

TENSA is also one of the owners of Pressure Dynamics who are the preeminent high end hydraulics company in Perth. This gives us access to great facilities, the ability to build our equipment in house and a team of excellent technicians who can provide site support.

TENSA is based in Perth, Western Australia and focuses its services on Australia and South East Asia. Services can be provided in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand through partner companies. We also do work anywhere in the world where there is an application for our products. We have provided equipment on both sales and rental basis to the Middle East, UK North Sea and to Canada.

We have strong relationships with manufacturers in Europe and China and have partner companies who can support us in most countries of the world. We offer reciprocal support to companies looking to enter the Australian market.

Moving towards the future, TENSA prides itself on its strong R&D capability with a focus on automation and robotics to improve safety and work efficiency.
