Roborigger Electrical, Electronics, and Controls Engineer
We are looking for an electrical , electronics and controls engineer who can work with our team to support the product development, manufacture and support of Roborigger products. These include a range of internet connected load rotaters, remote control hooks and data capture devices including cameras and scanners.
You will be working alongside a team of highly technical mechanical, electrical and mechatronic engineers supported by our alliance with Curtin University. What we are doing is truly state of the art in design and we are looking for a person who isn’t bounded by what has been done in the past but rather by what is possible in the future.
Responsibilities
The role requires a person who is able to interface with a multi-disciplined team and manage the overall development of the electrical, electronic and control aspects of our products. The candidate must also have outstanding skills in one or more of the areas and be able to take on the development of the product in these areas. The engineer must have some of the following specific skills:
- Electrical: Oversee the design of the electrical and control systems for the Roborigger products. Manage compliance with Australian and international standards (eg US and European). Experience in design of high voltage and low voltage DC power systems as typically used in electric vehicles.
- Electronics: Oversee installation of control boxes and site hookup of power and control wiring fro new units being built. For maintenance and repair be able to troubleshoot electrical faults, replace circuit boards, terminate power and data cables.
- Control: Familiarity with Canbus and closed and open loop control algorithms. Setup of PMAC motor controllers.
- Manufacture management: Must be able to implement parts traceability and quality control procedures appropriate for electronic systems. Must be able to implement software versioning control.
- Software Development: C++ experience. Good linux knowledge. Experience with embedded processors. Android app development.
- IOT and Networking: Development of IOT applications. Cassandra database, cloud application hosting.
Where you will be working
The work will be generally located at our West Perth office and our assembly and service facility at Wangara. The work will also involve visits to sites when supporting the equipment.
Requirement
We would expect that the person will have an electrical, electronics or mechatronic qualification as well as a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a company where high quality standards were demanded.
